Sequoia National Park - Erin Leigh Carleton

Yesterday we visited Sequoia National Park. There is one tree there that is 40 ft. in diameter; its name is General Grant. General Grant is one of the biggest trees in the world. The trunk of the tree is 40 feet in Diameter.  It is as tall as a 27 story building.  The top of the tree is dead and now does not grow any higher it just grows wider.  The giant Sequoias range in age from 2000 to 3000 years old!!  There was also a sequoia that had fallen and you could walk through it (see picture below). It was so big it was actually a path-way. The pine cones there were also big. They were the size of a football. I kept like 6 of them!!!

There was also snow about 2 feet deep in places, but it was nice because it was still warm enough to wear shorts.

View driving in.

  1. Hi Erin it's Brooke. Yesterday we won are game the score was 5-2 us.Taylor scored one Kyla scored an amazing side goal and I scored a hat trick. The first halve was over and the score was 3-1 us.At have time Marissa came and get this her dad ran over her foot. Apparently he was backing out of the drive way and her foot was in the way and he stopped his car on it for five minutes on it. She's on crutches, and her foot is broke. Last week we tied both our games 1-1. In the second halve this girl named Italya from NASA did a header kicked it in the air again I tried to do a header and she kicked me in the chin and my dad caught this on tape while I was on the ground. Have fun in California. Also hope your here for Taylor's b-day. Your Friend, Brooke
